Use the Guest Portal page in Global Settings to apply your organization's branding to the pages guests see when they connect to the guest network. You can set the theme name and colors, upload a logo, and choose a background image or color. A live preview shows your changes before you save them.

Customization changes appearance only. The authentication method, Session Timeout, Geo Scope, and terms and conditions text are set when you create or edit a guest portal under Network Setup > Authentication > Guest Portal.

## Prerequisites

- Access to the Nile Portal with permission to edit Global Settings.
- Your logo, saved as a .png, .jpg, or .jpeg file that is 5 MB or smaller.
- Your background image, if you plan to use one, in the same formats and within the same size limit.
- Your brand colors as hex values, for example #EC394C.

## Customization options

The Guest Portal page is available at Global Settings > Guest Portal.

## Preview controls

Use the preview to check the portal before you save.

- Select the desktop or mobile icon above the preview to switch the preview size.
- Select a tab above the preview to see the page for each portal type: Click Through, Email Approval, Access Code, SMS Access Code, or Self Registered. The Email Approval and Access Code tabs have drop-down menus for their variants.

## Customize the guest portal

1. Log in to the Nile Portal.
2. Go to Global Settings > Guest Portal.
3. Enter a name in Theme Name.
4. Under Theme, set the Primary Color and the Secondary Color.
5. You can keep tenant name as portal name or upload your logo file.
6. Under Background, select Image or Color.
 - If you select Image, upload your background image.
 - If you select Color, choose the background color.
7. Review the preview on the desktop and mobile views, and on each portal type tab that you use.
8. In the preview, select the Terms of service link to review how the terms page looks.
9. Click Save to apply the theme. To discard your changes, click Cancel.

## Review the terms page

The terms page uses the same logo, colors, and background as the rest of the portal. Guests read the terms and click Agree and Connect to continue.

To change the terms and conditions text, edit the guest portal under Network Setup > Authentication > Guest Portal.

## Recommendations

- Choose a primary color that stays readable on the portal panel, so the buttons and the Terms of service link are easy to see.
- Check the mobile preview before you save, because guests often connect from phones.
- Use compact image files. Smaller files load faster on the captive portal page.
- Review every portal type tab that you use, because each tab shows a different guest form.
