Setup Wireless - PSK SSID
The Nile Access Service supports PSK‑based (Personal) SSIDs for devices that do not support 802.1X.
Configuration Steps
- Log in to the Nile Portal.
- In the left navigation, select Network Setup > Wireless, click the '+' sign, and choose the Type as Personal.
- Configure the following:
- Name: Enter the SSID name.
- Security: Select WPA2 or WPA3.
- When WPA2 is selected, you can enable the Unique Passphrase checkbox to assign a unique passphrase per user or device for the SSID.
- When WPA3 is selected, enable the Backward Compatibility checkbox to allow WPA2-only legacy clients to connect. This sets the SSID to WPA3 Transition Mode.
- Passphrase Best Practices: Use a random passphrase of at least 16 characters. Don't reuse it across SSIDs, and change it if it is exposed or when users who know it leave.
- Optionally, select the Hide SSID checkbox if you wish to hide the SSID.
- Ensure that the other checkboxes, Unique Passphrase and SSO, are disabled for this PSK-only SSID.
- Segments: Select the appropriate segment for this SSID and save your changes.
