Setup Nile Captive Portal SSID

Prerequisites
Complete the following before you create a Nile captive portal SSID. Each step has its own page with detailed instructions.
- Configure a Service Area. Define the sites, buildings, and floors where you need Nile connectivity. See Setup Service AreasSetup Service Areas.
- Configure DHCP. Choose Nile DHCP or an external DHCP server, and define the subnets your users will use. See Setup DHCPSetup DHCP.
- Configure a Guest Portal. Configure the type of guest portal guests will use to authenticate and gain access to the guest network. See Setup Guest PortalSetup Guest Portal.
- Configure Segments. Create a segment for this SSID. Map the Guest Portal as the authentication server. See Setup SegmentsSetup Segments.
Configuration Steps
- Log in to the Nile Portal.
- In the left navigation, select Network Setup > Wireless, click the '+' sign, and choose the Type as Captive Portal.
- Configure the following:
- Name: Enter the SSID name.
- Optionally, select the Hide SSID checkbox if you wish to hide the SSID.
- Segments: Select the guest segment that uses your guest portal and save your changes.
- Connect a test device to the SSID. The device should show a "sign in to network" prompt or open the guest portal page. Complete the sign-in for the portal type you chose.
