AQI measures the "quality" of the WiFi medium as detected by the Nile sensors. An alert is generated when the AQI falls below the expected threshold.
Note: If overall channel utilization is high due to low Wi-Fi AQI, the Access Point (AP) will automatically switch to a better channel.
- If the air quality deteriorates due to channel load, the most likely root cause is Wifi interference from external access points.
Example Alert | Poor WiFi Air Quality detected due to WiFi interference from external access points at Bangalore/Bldg_1/Floor_1 for 10 minutes. |
---|---|
Recommended Customer Action | • Please check the area for any external access points or devices that could be causing WiFi interference, such as nearby routers. Note: AQI is only applicable to the 5GHz radio band. |
- If the air quality deteriorates due to noise-floor, the most likely root cause is external non-wifi source of interference.
Example Alert | Poor WiFi Air Quality detected due to interference from external non-WiFi source at Bangalore/Bldg_1/Floor_1 for 8 minutes. |
---|---|
Recommended Customer Action | • Please check the area for any non-WiFi devices that may be causing interference, such as cordless phones, non-Wi-Fi compliant wireless security cameras, or other types of wireless equipment that generate continuous signals within the Wi-Fi frequency bands. |
