How to find serial numbers on Nile Service Block network elements

You may be asked for a serial number on one of the Nile Service Block (NSB) network elements. This could occur if you need to locate an unplugged device like a Sensor or identify if power has been cut to a Switch. Below is the method to find the serial numbers for each of the NSB network elements.

Headend (HE)

Serial number can be found on the top or back of the appliance

If there is another device racked directly above the HE, you can find the serial number on the back of the appliance.

Distribution Switch (DS)

Pull out the sliding black tag on the front plate to reveal the serial number

Access Switch (AS)

Pull out the sliding black tag on the front plate to reveal the serial number

Access Point (AP)

Scan the QR Code with your phone camera to reveal the embedded text containing the SN

The serial number is also located on the back side of the AP

The Serial number is also located on the back side of the sensor
